Who is responsible for your information?
Inspire Polytechnic is responsible for the personal information collected through this website and Claris, its virtual admissions assistant. Contact us at info@inspirepolytechnic.edu.ng or at 39/41, Karimu Laka Street, Egbeda, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, Nigeria. Our Yaba campus is at 3A, Ikorodu Express Way Road, opposite Jibowu Bus Stop, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. Campus phone numbers are available on our contact page.
Claris: help and admissions enquiries
You can browse general guidance without starting a saved conversation. Claris’s invitation does not create an enquiry or lead. Before a recorded chat begins, we ask you to agree to saving the conversation and to identify whether you are an adult or a parent or legal guardian. Claris is a virtual assistant using reviewed institutional information. It does not make admission decisions, process applications, take payments or guarantee an offer.
For a saved chat, we keep your messages and replies, the date and time, the page on which you started, your adult/guardian declaration and consent record, and programme or campus interests you choose to share. Authorised admissions staff can review the conversation and reply. Please do not include passwords, identity numbers, examination login details, financial information or sensitive documents.
If you choose an admissions follow-up, we separately ask for your preferred name, phone number or email address needed for your chosen contact method, and optional programme, campus and suitable contact time. We record your specific consent, chosen channel and request history. The team may add service notes, ownership and a next action to manage your enquiry. These details are used to respond to your admissions request with your consent. They are not a subscription to promotional messages or a completed application. Declining a callback does not prevent access to general help.
Children and young applicants
If you are under 18, use the general guidance route without entering personal details or free-text messages. Ask a parent or legal guardian to start an enquiry using their own contact details. The age-band choice is a practical first step; it is not formal identity or guardianship verification. Staff may need to confirm the appropriate adult’s authority before progressing a child’s request.
Your choices and rights
Open “Chat options” in your saved chat and choose “Stop admissions follow-up” to stop contact about that request. “Delete this chat and contact request” removes that conversation and its linked callback record from the active chatbot system. You can also email the institution to request access, correction, a copy, deletion, restriction or withdrawal of consent. Withdrawal does not invalidate earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate verification to protect your information; do not send identity-document scans with your initial request.
You may object to relevant processing and complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Claris does not automatically score, admit or reject applicants.
Access, security and retention
Access to stored conversations and contact details is restricted to authorised admissions staff and administrators. The website’s hosting and maintenance services support the system. Claris stores chat and contact content encrypted in the database and does not send it to an external generative-AI service. Technical administrators may have access where necessary to maintain, secure or restore the service.
Unlinked saved chats are removed after up to 90 days of inactivity. Callback records and linked conversations are removed after up to 180 days without meaningful enquiry activity. Any enrolled student’s required official records belong in the institution’s separate student-record process; bot data is not kept indefinitely. Administrators may choose shorter periods. Routine browsing, automatic polling or staff viewing does not restart these periods. Security and disaster-recovery copies have restricted access; deletion requests must also be respected when a backup is restored, and backups are subject to a separate expiry process.
Browser storage and website access
Claris uses browser session storage to remember whether you dismissed the invitation and whether to resume a chat in that tab. This is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. After you choose to start a saved chat, a secure conversation cookie lets you continue it on this browser. Delete your chat to remove that cookie, or clear your browser’s site data. WordPress uses authentication cookies when staff sign in.
The hosting service may record technical information such as IP address, page requests, browser details and request time to operate and protect the website. Claris uses short-lived security limits to reduce abuse; it does not keep raw IP addresses in chat or lead records. The website does not add advertising or analytics trackers.
Maps, films and external contact services
Google Maps on campus pages load as the map cards approach the visible area. Your browser then connects to Google, which receives technical information and may use cookies under its own policies. Addresses and phone numbers are also available in text.
Films play using files hosted on this website. A short silent film may play in the homepage banner; you can pause it with its control. Automatic banner playback respects supported reduced-motion and data-saving preferences. The inline films do not connect to YouTube unless you choose a link to the original film.
When you or a staff member use email, telephone or WhatsApp for an enquiry, the chosen service processes the information according to its own terms and privacy practices. Claris saves the request for the admissions team; it does not automatically send email or WhatsApp messages. External links to maps, media, government services and other websites are subject to those services’ policies.
